A modern neighborhood among greenery, full of culinary hotspots

Modern and vibrant Vathorst is Amersfoort's youngest neighborhood and continues to grow. Bordering the polder, here you see the transition between urban and rural areas. The water and greenery of the polder is also extended into the neighborhood. The district is built with an eye for detail: you will come across various building styles and versatile architecture. A wonderful place to live, but there is also plenty to do for a day out!

Eating and drinking in Vathorst - Good food for every mood

That Vathorst is diverse is also reflected in its offerings. Start the day off right in the neighborhood's living room: the coffee KV. This is a cozy meeting place near the station. Enjoy a cappuccino with a piece of homemade apple pie. When it's time for that well-deserved lunch, Corazon Park is the place to be. This restaurant is located in a huge glass greenhouse in the middle of a residential neighborhood. On a sunny day, sit in one of the hanging chairs on the terrace or choose a spot inside. For beer and burgers, Tjaps is the perfect place. Be surprised by the flavors of the charcoal grill combined with one of the (23!) beers on tap.

Fun activities in Vathorst - Pick your own bouquet

In summer, you will find a beautiful flower picking garden at Land in Sight Garden. Walk through the garden, listen to the buzzing of the bees and admire the butterflies fluttering around you. All while you put together your own bouquet of beautiful dahlias, marigolds, zinnias and more. Next to the picking garden there is a cozy teahouse where you can enjoy freshly baked cookies and a tea. Prefer to do something active? Rent a SUP board at Lakesidesup and paddle leisurely through the canals. End the trip with a snack or drink on BijLot's terrace.

The culture house - From theater to book enjoyment

In the center of Vathorst you will find the ICOONtheater. Where you can visit fun (youth) performances. You will also find Scholen in de Kunst and Bibliotheek Eemland in this building. Give your own creativity a boost or go in search of a good book. Fancy an evening of laughter, banter and laughter? On Fridays you can watch comedy at Theater de Kamers or take part in a fun pub quiz!
