Waldo takes you through the splendor and power of Amersfoort in his videos. This time he rocks the museum offerings.
What not everyone knows is that Amersfoort has a large and very diverse range of museums, including Kunsthal KAdE, the Mondriaan House and the Cavalry and National Military Museum. For this new episode "Waldo rocks the Keistad: Say MuseJa!" Waldo dives into two diverse top museums: Museum Flehite and Musiom. From Amersfoort cultural history to contemporary art. Two extremes. After marveling at both museums, Waldo secretly has a favorite.... ;)
Last time, Waldo took a look at Rock City's brewpub and experienced what the terraces are like with "1.5-meter measures. Check out the video. Have you enjoyed a cold beer on the terrace yet?
Historic Flehite
The first stop: Museum Flehite. This building in itself is worth visiting. In fact, the museum is located in three so-called "wall houses" from 1540. These beautiful buildings have served as a residence, warehouse and even as a military hospital. Museum Flehite has been here since 1890.
Waldo visits the exhibition "Amersfoort in Pictures. This exhibition shows the development of Amersfoort as a city through the centuries. Not only a must see for the Keientrekker, but also immensely interesting for any history and/or art lover.
Contemporary Musiom
From the oldest to the newest museum in Amersfoort. Where Flehite has been visiting since 1890, Musiom opened its doors in late 2018. What is special about this museum is that almost all of the artists exhibiting there are still active. The cool thing about this is that the art is not only on display in the museum, but also partly for sale!
