Waldo and Pim, armed with whiteboard and markers, dove into the streets of Amersfoort. The goal was to ask women what they thought would be the best activities, sights or events during a girlfriends' weekend. With a nice bonus: try out the activity with the most votes for yourself...

After touring the city, Waldo and Pim, after their highly representative research, come up with a great list of fun things to do on the perfect girlfriend weekend.
1. Drinking cocktails
How the men must have booed when the absolute No. 1 turned out to be drinking delicious cocktails.... But promised is promised and this popular activity the men did undergo. Although I don't think they found ending the day with a refreshing cocktail on the beautiful terrace of the Boothill Saloon very unpleasant....

2. Eating pizza
The tip given was good pizza food. In Amersfoort you have plenty of good pizzerias. It is extra nice to eat at pop-up restaurant Bombari this summer. You will find this restaurant this summer on the Inspiration Boat, yes a real boat, in the Eemhaven. How cool is that?
3. Shop at small, local business owners
Every city has the big well-known chain stores. But of course it is extra fun to dive into the side streets and look for those local stores. For example, go to the Krommestraat or one of the other side streets of the Langestraat. We have already listed some of our favorite boutiques here.
4. Tour
See the city from a completely different angle with a cruise through Amersfoort's canals. Hop on one of Waterlijn's boats and get carried away in the city's past. Want something more active? Then rent a canoe and discover the city for yourself from the water. Promise: it's breath taking...breathtaking...beautiful!
5. Drink tour of the city
Pick out nice pubs in advance or go on spec. Tip: have a drink on every square! For example, start at the Appelmarkt, then go to Groenmarkt, settle down at Hof and finish at the foot of the Lange Jan at Lieve Vrouweplein. Another special location: the Krankeledenplantsoen. At this last spot Waldo and Pim enjoyed their well-deserved cocktail.
