By train or Tesla?

Amersfoort is easily accessible by public transportation. From Amersfoort Central Station it is a ten minute walk with the stroller to the center. There is also a whole series of buses going from the station. Coming by car? Even easier! There are plenty of parking garages in town. Do you drive a trendy Tesla or other electric car? Then you can park for free at charging station Oliemolenhof near the New Town.

Soaking up culture in the medieval city

Stroll through the historic downtown and enjoy the old streets, canals and monuments. Visit the Koppelpoort through a guided tour by Gilde Amersfoort and, together with the children, earn the wheelwright certificate by retrieving the shot from this treadmill. Then bump your stroller over the cobblestones at the Muurhuizen. These are houses built with material from the old city wall. And finish with a sandwich in the beautiful park at the Monk Dam. Just outside the old city center and close to De Nieuwe Stad you will find KROAST. They have a delicious lunch menu with a great selection of sandwiches and salads. For the kids there is a large play corner with plenty of toys. While the kids play, you can enjoy a relaxing lunch.

In a beautiful location on the groenmarkt in the heart of the city you will find Pannekoekenhuys Den Potsenmaeker. The perfect place to eat delicious pancakes. The square regularly hosts activities such as children's performances and music programs.
