Autumn Pieces: Chalk Me (4+)

Chalk Me is an interactive and playful dance party for the whole family by Sally dance theater Maastricht. A meeting between children, adult visitors and dancers, an acquaintance with each other's movements and chalk as ingredients. Together, dancers and audience create a unique living sketchbook in which to draw, dance and experience together.

Chalk Me begins outside the theater. Playful chalk drawings lead children and their parent(s)/caretaker(s) playing, tracking, hopping, hopping into the theater auditorium. There they do not take a seat in a chair but on the stage! A duet unfolds before their eyes on a playing field of ever-changing chalk drawings. They see, hear and feel the dancers up close and discover that they themselves are in the middle of a drawn dance garden. They get to shape that dance garden themselves. Together they make memories; I chalk you and you chalk me!

The performance meets the audience with open arms and takes them out onto the floor, into the story, while dancing. Children and adults discover together the magical world of dance by playfully trying, using each other's bodies and looking for different solutions. The performance offers adult and child sincere time for each other allowing them to meet in a different way.
