National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug
The lateral moraine with its forests and moorlands rises from the flat agricultural landscape. The southern part of the Utrecht Heuvelrug is designated as a National Park (about 10,000 ha).
In addition to the lateral moraine, the floodplains of Amerongen also belong to the National Park. It is an area of forests, country estates and 'mountains'. You can enjoy hiking and biking on the lateral moraine, through moorlands, past castles and estates, in the floodplains and woods.
