Welcome to our Theater Preliminary Training!
Theater Vooropleiding Amersfoort (TVA) offers young people between the ages of 17 and 26 personal, down-to-earth and professional guidance towards HBO theater. Talent development is a wonderful, but also intensive and exciting process. We like to help you find your own way within the broad theater landscape and stand in your power. In doing so, we look both nationally and internationally for the right studies and opportunities. The artistic direction is in the hands of actress Jessica Zeylmaker and director Jori Hermsen.
We offer a range of different training and courses.

We offer a range of different training and courses.
In the TVA year-long program , you will be taught 4 days a week from September to June by different teachers in the profession. Actress Jessica Zeylmaker or director Jori Hermsen will be your mentors in this.
At Saturday TVA , from September through March, you will have 22 Saturdays of in-depth lessons and personal guidance led by mentor, Brian Verhagen.
At TVA film school you will develop in the field of film, behind and in front of the scenes. This will be from October through April, 22 Fridays. You will receive in-depth classes, master classes, personal guidance and a short film led by mentor, Fem Petraeus.
At the TVA production group, you will work together to create an interdisciplinary theater production. Exclusively for (former) TVA members, from September through April, every Tuesday evening.
From season 2024-2025 we will also start the TVA Production House. Every year we give 2 to 3 former TVA students (up to 5 years after their graduation from HBO theater education) room to develop themselves into independent producers or collectives. TVA offers guidance in the artistic creative process and entrepreneurship. They get the chance to explore their artistic signature from Amersfoort, set up their enterprise and develop productions. In the city we collaborate with parties such as: Lieve Vrouw, Flint, Kosmik, Scholen in de Kunst, NEOS and others. In this way TVA ensures a good connection to professional practice and a strong cultural chain in Amersfoort.
