Downey's is a private initiative where people with intellectual disabilities have a full workplace in society. We look at what people can do, and in doing so, offer our employees the proper guidance, education and training that will enable them to
enable them to develop themselves. We are completely independent and receive no government subsidy.
We depend on our restaurant sales and donations for funding. Therefore, Downey's is pleased to have friends who are willing to support us financially.
Downey's is a quirky lunchroom where people can enjoy a delicious lunch, a good cup of coffee or tea with something tasty. In Downey's we receive guests in our own way - open and honest, from our strength and with our limitation. "We" are first and foremost the employees. They rise above themselves. That is exactly the purpose of this private initiative.
