Belgians Monument
The monument is a gift from the Belgians to the Netherlands in gratitude for taking in refugees during World War I.
The monument includes a beautifully landscaped garden, including flower boxes on the facades and a fountain with multiple sprinklers.
The design of the garden was adapted to the architecture, atmosphere and character of the monument. The landscaper wanted to combine an ordered garden with a natural garden. Hence the combination of straight garden paths with tight privet hedges, grass, heather and the surrounding forest.
Guided tours will be given by Gilde Amersfoort and Amersfoort Guides.
