After completing his studies, Heijdenrijk went to work at the architectural firm in Amersfoort. Together with Van der Grinten, he later started his own firm, focusing on architecture and urban design. One of Heijdenrijk's special projects are the bridge houses in the Kattenbroek neighborhood.
