Take a look in advance

After her husband dies, his widow Santosh traditionally inherits his job as a police officer in rural northern India. When a girl from a lower caste is murdered, charismatic detective Sharma involves her in the case. Under the wing of her new boss, Santosh goes all out to find out the truth. But the deeper she dives into the investigation, the more she gets caught in a web of corruption, misogyny and casteism.

Santosh is a riveting police thriller about a housewife who unexpectedly gets a job within a traditionally male-dominated environment. Skillfully, director Sandhya Suri interweaves Santosh's search for her new place in the world with themes of patriarchal power, prejudice, tradition and grief. Santosh premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival after which the film received international acclaim for its strong acting and visually stunning visuals.
