Viver Mal

Take a look in advance

Using the films of Ingmar Bergman and the stage work of August Strindberg as examples, director João Canijo continues on the track he laid out in Mal Viver: the exposure of maternal love as cold selfishness and emotional blackmail. In Mal Viver, the stand-alone first part of a diptych, we saw how the five women from one family running the hotel suffocated each other in intergenerational trauma. In the second part, also watchable separately from part one, it's the guests' turn to bring emotions to a boiling point.
