Film Analysis
Take a look in advance
This can be substantive and technical. For example, what does a particular camera shot do, how does the music work in a scene and what effect does the position of the actors in a scene have? Is there symbolism, are there themes that the filmmaker wants to draw attention to and are there cultural-historical factors that influence the perception of the film? And how is the screenplay actually constructed?
Constant Hoogenbosch discusses various elements of film analysis using film scenes from Heat, Brownian Movement, First Blood, The King's Speech, The Crow and No County For Old Men, among others.
