Resistance!

Resistance! is the thematic sequel to The Far Word. In this performance, Sahand explores forms of resistance, within and beyond his own Iranian story. The stories are interspersed with spoken word, audio and visual archival materials and exciting live music by jazz drummer and virtuoso Henning Luther.

Sahand Sahebdivani was born in Tehran, Iran. In 1983, he fled to the Netherlands with his family during the Iran-Iraq war. His own turbulent family history forms the basis of most of his work. In addition to being a charismatic storyteller, Sahand is also a musician. He plays oriental strings and percussion and sings in Turkish, Farsi and Kurdish, among other languages. Sahand has been narrating for more than 20 years.
