Sadness is the thing with feathers | Theater Rotterdam
We miss our mother, we love our father, we wave at crows. It's not that strange.

Erik Whien and Jacob Derwig bring Max Porter's heartbreaking book Grief is the Thing with Fe athers to the stage. With this, director Erik Whien brings one of his personal favorites to the theater. Jacob Derwig adapts the raw but loving story into a probing performance, focusing on the healing process and the transition to a new reality. How do you deal with all-consuming grief? How do you accept that nothing can be taken for granted anymore?
Grief is the Thing with Fe athers is a musical theater performance in which Erik Whien's finely crafted, minimalist style meets the glowing and poignant lyrics from the book. A great story about parents and children, unconditional love, mourning and a crow.
