Elbow Church
Take a look in advance
In De Elleboog is a new exhibition space in the former Elleboog Church on Langegracht in Amersfoort. Over the next few years it will feature extensive installations by artists from the Netherlands and abroad.
A major fire in 2007 destroyed the church and the Armando Museum housed therein. Much of the collection also went up in flames. Marx and Steketee Architects were commissioned to rebuild and provided the church with a beautiful roof with skylight.
In De Elleboog is an initiative of Amersfoort in C (Kunsthal KAdE, Museum Flehite, Mondriaanhuis, Architecture Center FASadE) and made possible by the Municipality of Amersfoort.
This special exhibition space focuses on contemporary art. With a focus on extensive installations that immerse you in a total experience, the Amersfoort museums surprises its visitors several times a year.

What's on display at In The Elbow right now?
Artist Hans Op de Beeck's mysterious places invite one to find a moment of reflection. For In The Elbow, he installed a large, gently rippling body of water containing white rocks, reeds and trees.
At the back of the church there seems to be an opening to the outside. As if white water ripples in this way. Hills are visible, above which you can see a softly glowing representation of the sun. Take a seat on the stand, stare across the milky white water to the horizon and let your thoughts flow freely.
You can visit The Silent Reflection at the Elbow Church Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are €4 and can be purchased at the box office in the Elleboogkerk.
