City of Cahen

Architect Abel Cahen designed it in 1976, but his plan for this site in the monumental downtown met with much protest. Construction finally began in 1985. In his design, Cahen sought to connect to the finely woven structure of the downtown area.

To promote social interaction, intimacy and liveliness, he sought a multifunctional use of space with an inviting character. This created a structure with six towers and a maze of alleys, squares, nooks and crannies. The building was intended for the National Service for Archaeological Soil Research, which moved out in 2009. Currently, the building is rented to various cultural and social organizations. The seminary has been converted into
a small-scale residential facility.
