"I want to be a concert guitarist," said a 10-year-old Matthijs decidedly. It was at his trial lesson with Fernando Riscado Cordas, ten years ago at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. "We'll arrange that!" Fernando replied amused. The enthusiasm, talent and love for music were already evident; even though not every note had been completely hit yet, all the ingredients for a future in music were present. With the lessons that followed, the two forged an alliance, working on Matthijs' guitar technique, musical expression and performance; the more and more it became clear: Matthijs IS a concert guitarist!

In this program, you will hear master and companion with a diverse selection from the guitar duo and solo repertoire.
