The Kik is back, with the new album"Bal Populaire," released March 29. On it, frontman Dave Von Raven sings of the universal themes of life: love, death, the things we should better not do but to which we keep giving in anyway. He has been less concerned with current events recently, focusing instead on lighter, personal topics.
The Kik is best known for their retro style. They perform a mix of 60s music, rock 'n' roll and Nederbeat. The Kik, with lead singer and guitarist Dave von Raven, formed their band in 2011 and were inspired by musical heroes from the 60s.
