Fairy tales from home (4+)

Fairy Tales from Home is a colorful family performance in which four Ukrainian fairy tales are translated through text, movement and music. By performing it bilingually, it is easy to follow for both Ukrainian and Dutch speakers. They are both classic and modern fairy tales full of fantasy, humor and symbolism.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine forced many Ukrainians to flee. In this project, Anastasiia Liubchenko works with both Ukrainian refugees and Dutch people who are professionally active in theater. With Fairy Tales from Home, Anastasiia wants to contribute to the encounter between Dutch and Ukrainians. Fairy tales give a very different, more universal insight into a culture. Everyone recognizes the fairy tale form and has a certain kind of nostalgia for it.
