Take a look in advance

For years, hundreds of thousands of Turkish cats have roamed freely across the rooftops and streets of Istanbul. By now the cats are seen as an integral part of the city; their eternal presence is accepted and appreciated. It soon becomes apparent that the cats cannot live without the inhabitants of Istanbul, but this is also the case the other way around. The cats hold up a mirror to the residents: the behavior of the cats makes people aware of their own attitude and outlook on life.

The documentary Kedi focuses on seven cats, all with unique looks, personalities and endearing stories. Especially for the film, director Ceyda Torun designed a special camera that allowed her to film at "cat height. As a result, the cats become real characters and the film contains a lot of unique action footage.
