Aires Tropicales Quintet | Young & Inspired - Coffee Concert

Aires Tropicales Quintet is an ensemble of young musicians from Cuba and Spain, based in the Netherlands. They take you on a musical journey through time: from the realm of classical music, transition to more contemporary works, finally ending in the compelling rhythms of Cuban and Latin American music.

Among their recent projects, the striking promotional campaign for the "Queen Charlotte" series in collaboration with Netflix and Vogue stands out. The ensemble was chosen by Fontys University, along with other alumni, to record a CD through Kleinman Audio. They were recently invited to perform on the stage of Podium Klassiek, with the special piece "Afro "by Paquito D'Rivera, sharing their Cuban heritage with the Dutch audience.

Concert Series Young & Inspired

As a musician, you have to put in flight hours. Not only at home in your attic room to master all the techniques, but also on a stage. How does it feel to be on a stage, what kind of concentration do you need, how is the interaction with live audience, how do you want to present yourself? These are all aspects you can't just practice at home. You need a stage and an audience for that. From the need to offer young talent and young professionals a stage, the concert series Jong & Bevlogen (Young & Inspired) was born. This concert series came about in cooperation with our guest-programmer violinist Lonneke van Straalen.
