Take a look in advance

Mathieu is a star actor who almost falls victim to his own listless attitude to life. He is a somewhat laughable soulful actor struggling with the coffee machine and life. To the outside world, he plays the popular movie actor with a smug grin. When he announced his theatrical debut, the press called him dapper. But four weeks before the premiere, he pulls the plug on the project out of fear of failure. He leaves for a spa resort on the Brittany coast to hide from what he himself sees as public humiliation.

Mathieu revives when Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) blows into his life again -literally. Sixteen years ago they had a thing together. She is now in her forties and still a piano teacher. It didn't end nicely. Matthieu found her too ordinary and dumped her. But he misses Alice's generous devotion to others and how sincere she is in life. Time has passed, each of them has gone their separate ways, wounds have healed and anger has subsided.

Will Mathieu and Alice get a second chance at love, or at least at a dignified goodbye? A film about looking back, about love that was not meant to be, about the choices we make and conversely about the things that happen to us without our choosing, beautifully set against the backdrop of the rugged Breton coast.
