Dixis

Dixi's Amersfoort is a blues rock band from Amersfoort, formed in the late 1980s under the then name Dickies. The band evolved from the bands Wells Fargo and Attila, with then Dirk Kollen (Wells Fargo, Blackstreet Blues) on bass, Herbie Vanderloo (Wells Fargo, Attila) on guitar and Willem Michels on drums. This "side" project has seen many a stage and, needless to say, has been a lot of fun. After Willem's much too early passing in July 2020, Arne ten Hoedt (Minas Tirith, Virtual, Dipswitch) was asked to take his place on drums. He felt very honored and continued Willem's task with full conviction.

After only a few months, the band was ready to enter the Rock Studio Beekbergen to record the debut album "Kenjedit?!" with producer Kris ten Hoedt. Since there is already a Dickies, the name of the band was changed to Dixi's! No comment on this, hahaha! This album was self-released in December 2020 and is still available, of course! The band is eager to perform, but due to Covid-19 this is virtually impossible. Partly because of this, the band has had enough time to also record the second album, "Ajeto!!!," in July 2021. This one was also produced with Kris at the Rockstudio Beekbergen. This CD also contains 3 self-written songs and will be available from October 2021!

As soon as it is possible again, the band, with by now 2 albums in their pocket, will climb the stage again to present you with their bawdy, rough, dirty, on-acid blues rock. Think of songs by Free, Gov't Mule, Foreigner, BBM, Cream, etc. These seasoned musicians know what a show should be like, so make sure you're there! And buy a CD while you're at it! BONNA NIKKI is the name singer/songwriter Samuel Prins has chosen for his solo project. The name means "born in Nikki" and refers to his childhood spent in the city of Nikki, Benin (West Africa), where his interest in music was born.
