Le procès Goldman
Take a look in advance
The life story of French communist, guerrilla and criminal Pierre Goldman seems cut out for a biographical film. Director Cédric Kahn limited himself to a reconstruction of the legendary 1976 trial, in which verbal fireworks provide spectacle. Against Goldman's verbal violence, Kahn contrasts an unimpressive but steady-handed direction, which the court itself apparently lacked at the time. Le procés Goldman was the opening film of the Quinzaine des cinéastes section at the Cannes Film Festival. The film received several nominations and awards, especially for lead actor Arieh Worthalter.
