From howling clarinet to swinging jazz rhythm, music, theater and atmosphere share in a thick hour the story of the Harlem Renaissance, Gershwin's fascination with the (street and folk) arts in early 20th century New York and the power of cultural exchange. A swinging program centered on Rhapsody in Blue, composed in 1924.
