You probably think visiting a museum and building a water course is a very odd combination. Actually, it is. But then again, it's not. The exhibition you are about to visit at Museum Flehite is called The City and Water.

Water is at the center of the exhibition The City and Water... But then really everything that has to do with water: the Eem, waterways and industry, water fun, drinking water, water as danger, water as defense... Water! The works of art are just as multifaceted as water itself. Ranging from paintings, installations, photographs to even artworks in the canal!

So it seems an odd combination of visiting a museum and doing a water course, but it is not at all. First take a 'quiet' look at how artists experience water and then... After that, you can go crazy making a water stream on the Eemplein. You will build in groups of two or three.

At the end of the afternoon you will join each other and that is also the time when your parents and other members of the collection committee can see what you have made. After you clean up with all of them you will know all about water management.

DID YOU KNOW...
Water ice cream was accidentally invented in 1905? Eleven-year-old boy Frank Epperson left a glass of lemonade with a stirring stick outside. Overnight it froze and the next morning he had frozen ice cream. He liked it and later called it "popsicle," which is now known as water ice cream.
