When walking outside at night, do you ever ask yourself: What stars do I actually see? Or: What exactly is a star? But there may also be deeper questions such as: How did the universe come into being? And what is our earth's place in it, and ours? Numerous celestial phenomena such as solar and lunar eclipses, planets in our solar system, constellations and the Milky Way are fairly easy to recognize and explain with some basic knowledge of astronomy.

The observatory in Amersfoort offers you that basic knowledge and brings the starry sky a lot closer by familiarising you with the field of astronomy and the related field of space travel in 6 course evenings. We will cover the following topics:
What is there to see? Navigation, constellations and objects
The history of astronomy

The universe, galaxies and the evolution of the universe
You can register for the course which is always given on a Wednesday evening from 8:00 pm to about 10:00 pm. The course will be held in the observatory building on October 2, 9, 16 and 23 and November 6 and 13 (we will skip October 30 due to the autumn vacations).
