The Bikeriders

Take a look in advance

After a chance encounter in a local bar, Kathy (Jodie Comer) is immediately attracted to Benny (Austin Butler), the newest member of the motorcycle club "The Vandals" led by Johnny (Tom Hardy). The motorcycle club is a meeting place for speed-loving outsiders, but as society changes, so does the character of the club. Greedy invaders take over The Vandals and involve them in drug dealing, gambling, contract killing and open warfare with rival gangs. They enter a dangerous underworld of violence, forcing Benny to choose between Kathy and his loyalty to the club.

Authentic, personal and uncompromising, The Bikeriders offers a raw perspective on the iconic outlaw bikers who have captured the imagination for more than half a century. Of any romance, however, nothing remains after seeing the film.

Director Jeff Nichols was inspired by photojournalist Danny Lyon's groundbreaking 1968 book. Lyon was a four-year member of the Chicago Outlaws Motorcycle Club - a book of first-hand photos, that is. Nichols saw Danny Lyon's book 20 years ago and thought it was the coolest book he had ever held in his hands. Since then, it was something of an obsession for Nichols and he wanted to make a movie about it someday. That has now been accomplished with a host of top actors and the inimitable Jodie Comer adding another memorable role to her body of work.
