The acclaimed play Verdriet is the thing with feathers is once again showing in Dutch theaters. The press was unanimously laudatory and Jacob Derwig was nominated for the Louis d'Or.

Erik Whien and Jacob Derwig bring Max Porter's heartbreaking book Grief is the Thing with Feathers to the stage. A moving and poetic story about a father and his two sons left behind after the sudden death of their wife and mother. Shortly after the loss, the three are visited by a cruel, unpredictable and caring crow. He grabs the father, lifts him up and says, "I won't leave until you don't need me anymore.

Jacob Derwig adapts the raw but loving story into a poignant performance, focusing on the healing process and the transition to a new reality. How do you deal with all-consuming grief? How do you accept that nothing can be taken for granted anymore?
