Are you a fan?
The song 'My City' was written out of love for Amersfoort. As a fan of Diggy Dex it is of course very nice to visit the locations from the music video. Because we are big fans ourselves, we made a nice walking route along all the places from the clip!
The route
Hawk
This is a wonderful place to sit by the water or walk along it. The Havik is a beautiful piece of medieval Amersfoort with imposing historic buildings. From here you can enjoy sitting on the terrace at Van Zanten or expand your music collection at Velvet Music.
The Koppel Gate
One of the many eye-catchers not to be missed in a clip about Amersfoort: the Koppelpoort, perhaps the most special building in Amersfoort and an absolute eye-catcher. The Koppelpoort consists of a combination of a land and water gate: unique in the Netherlands.
Krankeleden Street
This is a side street of the Cathedral of Our Lady with wonderful places to get something to eat and/or drink. Cafés Boothill Saloon and Long John's have one of the nicest terraces in town. Good food can be found at Hete Kolen or Charlie's Burger 33 with a nice view of the tower.
The Three Rings
De Drie Ringen is a true household name in beer city Amersfoort. Since 1626 you can visit this city brewery for the best beers brewed in Amersfoort. Diggy Dex is a fan and so are we!
Kortegracht
Kortegracht is a central point in the city where there is plenty to see. Visit the Mondrian House, go shopping on Langestraat, grab a terrace or take a photo at one of the instagrammable locations, such as the bridge near Huis Tinnenburg. This is truly the Amersfoort Splendor.
Sweetheart Cemetery
This is one of Amersfoort's larger squares located on the, towering over the city, Our Lieve Vrouwetoren. Again, a central point in the city, but also the geographical center of the Netherlands. Slide into one of the cozy terraces, such as the one at Stadscafé or De Vier Broers. At Lieve Vrouwekerkhof you will also find theater De Lieve Vrouw. Here you can watch (arthouse) films and theater performances.
Crested Inner Gate/Long Street
The Kamperbinnenpoort is another medieval gem in Amersfoort. It forms an entrance to Langestraat, the city's largest shopping street. The Kamperbinnenpoort belongs to Amersfoort's first city wall, as does the famous Muurhuizen.
Atelier MIMosa
This is one of the best barbershops in Amersfoort and also Diggy Dex's favorite! Atelier MiMosa can be found on the Weverssingel near the Kamperbinnenpoort.
This is not to be missed
Feel like enjoying everything Amersfoort has to offer after the route? Settle down on one of the cozy terraces or go for dinner at one of Amersfoort's food hotspots. To make it easy for you, we have already selected a few!
