Have you ever been to Tuscany? This region in the middle of Italy is known for delicious wines ánd dishes. Sanneke and Charles of Italian Maniacs can tell you all about it, but maybe it's even better to just taste it! They have translated their love for Tuscan wines, special beer and tasty food into Italian Maniacs. So you don't have to book a vacation, you can experience Tuscany just in Amersfoort.

Everything from Tuscany

Founders Sanneke and Charles work in sales and marketing, but for years dreamed of running their own "enetoca. This literally means "repository for wines. The enoteca used to be the Italian version of a bar, where people went for a glass before a meal. Today, visitors can taste wines from different winemakers there.
Everything comes directly from Tuscany, Sanneke and Charles import everything themselves directly from the region and regularly go to Italy to gather the best products. In Tuscany they meet different suppliers of Tuscan specialties, such as the wines, special beer, cheeses, meats, olive oils, pasta sauces and other delicacies.

Cin cin

What I like about Italian Maniacs is that here you can taste the wines on the spot in combination with delicious matching dishes, such as a Tuscan drinks board with cheese, meat and other delicacies. Sanneke and Charles know what they are talking about. Whereas wines are often advised based on grape or region, Sanneke and Charles also advise based on when you are going to drink the wine. For a romantic evening with your partner on the couch, you need a different wine than during a dinner with friends or while cooking a delicious dish.

Bon apetito

When the enoteca is not open, Sanneke is in the kitchen preparing delicious dishes. "The food in Italy and especially inTuscany often looks simple, but is SO tasty," Sanneke says. Charles explains that Tuscan suppliers and wineries are eager to come here and explain everything. It's nice to taste how much passion is put into the products. A tip from me, for you: Don't leave without trying the different Dolces (Italian cookies)!
