Shoppers beware, in this blog I'm guiding you to a corner of our historic downtown that you might not visit every week. You'll find unique local boutiques that you should definitely have visited during a day of shopping with girlfriends.
LOD Fashion & Lifestyle
The super cute little store LOD Fashion and Lifestyle is a little hidden in a corner at the back of Koestraat. But definitely don't skip it if you go shopping for the day. You'll find tunics, dresses, blouses and various accessories for the home. The style is boho chic meets Ibiza, with colors that immediately make you happy.
Green Outlet
Fond of sustainability and a good story? At Green Outlet Amersfoort on the Grote Haag you can indulge yourself. Here you can score unique vintage clothing. And they sell great new furniture and accessories from party trade, for a fraction of the original price. With their assortment they contribute to recycling and saving stuff. The store is run by students taking Retail training. This way they learn - in practice and under the guidance of professionals - the intricacies of the trade. And did you know that we have our own piece in the Amersfoort shop? Filled with local beauty, for the real Amersfoort fan.
Shopped out? At these spots in the Kei Quarter, you can enjoy lunch, score sweet bites, dine and chat afterward.
Number 7
For all things denim, walk to the Pig Market. At Number 7 you'll find the good old Levi's and other brands. In fact, everyone should have that one perfect pair of jeans. One that flatters and elevators your buttocks, conceals your belly and makes your legs endlessly long. Once you find it, you cherish it for life. At Number 7 they say: 'Happiness is finding the perfect denim'. And dear friends, not a word of that is a lie.
Pilot Kidsstore
Put your little ones in all new at Loods Kidsstore. They have trendy brands that are not screamingly expensive. And that's nice because they grow fast enough right? A small selection of the brands: Levv, Tygo & Vito, Vingino, Retour, Crush, Indian Blue and Cars. Tip from me: keep an eye on their Facebook page, because they regularly have great discounts! And that is always welcome with growing children.
Little Russia
The culinary and adventurous shoppers among us should definitely not skip mini supermarket Little Russia. You will find typical Russian products to cook with and local delicacies such as: cakes, cookies and sweets to taste. As a true foodie, I love tasting new things, taking in different smells and exploring. Can't figure it out or have questions? They are happy to help you there.
Bookstore 't Ezelsoor
Another love of mine are books. Because they take you on a journey to unknown worlds, make you fall in love with characters and always add a piece to who you were before you read it. At second-hand bookshop 't Ezelsoor, Achter de Arnhemse Poortwal 21, they really have all kinds of books. And they also know everything about them. A fine combination. Because this way you discover new titles you would never have found otherwise. Everything is well sorted, so you can pick out that one book. Anyone who has ever read the last page with melancholy. Or envied someone who just opened a jewel of a book, knows what I mean!
Besides great shopping, you can also eat very well in the Keikwartier. And do you want to be a real Amersfoort expert? Then read this blog and amaze friend and foe alike with all kinds of facts about the Kei Quarter. Including one of the most embarrassing moments in Amersfoort history.
