Finally being able to tell that one story live. Having someone with you who tells you frankly that something doesn't suit you, laughing a lot and maybe a little flirting with that handsome salesman. So you look for a place to crash for a while once the loot is in. And what better place for that than high tea?
High tea
A high tea is much more relaxing than a quick cup of tea with a cookie. For a high tea you sit down, taste, share and take your time. So before you go shopping, it is handy to find out where in Amersfoort you can go for this English experience. I listed my favorites at random for you.
1. Bread & Sweets

At the cozy Bread & Sweets, you secretly go high tea for the pretty details. The decor, cups, teapots and bowls are so cute. The high tea itself consists of a savory round and a sweet round, all homemade. You can have unlimited tea with a choice of varieties. Because everything is fresh and homemade, each high tea takes on a different flavor. Sandwiches, quiches, rolls, chocolate and scones with homemade jam are certainly not missing. The rest is a surprise!
2. Tea Party

Alice in Wonderland meets Queen Elizabeth, that's the feeling you get when you enter Tea Party. And that is because of the extensive collection of teacups and teapots, the romantic brocante look and lots of fresh tea. Sitting in this fairytale setting (very instagrammable), you can enjoy a delicious high tea or sweet workshops such as cake or cupcake decorating and macaron making. Very nice: everything they use for baking and decorating you can buy there. Good to know: reservations are a must!
3. Central Boiler House

Outside the center, in one of the monumental buildings at the Wagenwerkplaats, you will find The Central Boiler House. A beautiful place and beloved wedding location. You can enjoy an extensive high tea both inside (by the fireplace) and outside. With homemade savory and sweet bites. Do you especially like sweet? There is thought of you! Because they have a high tea sweets. Cookies, chocolates, macaroons, brownies, scones, fresh fruit and a piece of homemade cake with whipped cream. Do you have time for an extensive high tea of at least an hour? Then go for the high tea deluxe.
4. Anna's Taste Workshop

Highly recommended is Anna's Taste Workshop. Anna is a certified pastry chef and former winner of Heel Holland Bakt. And now everyone in Amersfoort can feast on her delectable cakes and treats. For example, go for the sweet tasting and choose from the many varieties of fresh and dried tea. Including my favorite; chai latte. True to its roots, you can order both apple pie and kısır, one of my personal favorites. No idea what kısır is? Go taste that!
5. Barista Cafe

Having a nice chat with friends? Choose a high tea at Barista Café in the bustling city center of Amersfoort. Enjoy a richly filled etagere with delicious sandwiches, tasty cakes and fresh scones, all accompanied by an unlimited amount of tea. The ideal break during a day of shopping!
